# How-To Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 13x18-inch sheet pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture in three parts, alternating with milk, and beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared sheet pan and smooth the surface evenly.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove cake from oven and let it cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Beat butter in a mixer on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes. Gradually incorporate powdered sugar. Mix in vanilla extract and enough milk or cream to achieve the desired frosting consistency.
- Divide buttercream and color portions as needed for the cake base, decorative borders, and piping lettering.
- Spread a smooth layer of frosting over the cooled cake. Pipe decorative borders and 'Class of 2026' using a piping bag fitted with writing and star tips. If desired, finish with sprinkles or edible decorations.
- Refrigerate decorated cake for 30 minutes before serving to help set the buttercream.
